UN Representatives pay a courtesy call to the DRM Authority

We were pleased to welcome representatives from the United Nations (UN) and PAHO/WHO for a courtesy call on Friday, June 26th, to strengthen collaboration in disaster risk management.

A DRM Authority team of Mr. Aarone Sargent, Managing Director; Mr. Cleavon Nixon; and Mr. Raynard Edgecombe, Finance Manager, met with Mr. Dennis Zulu, UN Resident Coordinator, Multi-Country Office; Ms. Anessah Abdullah, UN Country Coordinator; Dr. Eldonna Boisson, PAHO/WHO Representative for The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands; and Dr. Sasha Peiris, Advisor for Communicable Diseases for PAHO/WHO.

Discussions focused on exploring opportunities for partnerships in disaster preparedness, mitigation, and building resilient communities across The Bahamas.

We value partnerships that enhance national preparedness. By working with international partners like the United Nations, we can build capacity to withstand disasters and safeguard communities throughout The Bahamas.
