The Passing of Rupert Roberts

We mourn the passing of prominent businessman and philanthropist Mr. Rupert Roberts.

As the founder of the Super Value chain of grocery stores, Mr. Roberts was widely recognised as a visionary Bahamian business leader. He was also a steadfast supporter of the DRM Authority and our predecessor, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), generously offering substantial logistical support and dedicating his valuable time to disaster relief efforts. Most notably during Hurricane Dorian, he allowed his grocery store in Abaco to be used as a base of operations.

Mr. Roberts was a vital strategic partner in our mission to keep The Bahamas safe, but above all, he cared deeply for the people of our nation, always acting with selflessness and compassion.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Roberts family and all his loved ones.
