DRM Authority welcomes Brigadier General Andy Chevalier

Managing Director, Aarone Sargent, and Acting Disaster Operations Director Cleavon Nixon, welcomed Brigadier General Andy Chevalier, Adjunct General (commanding officer) of the Rhode Island National Guard (RING), and his leadership team for a courtesy call earlier today.

This meeting followed the DRM Authority’s visit to RING headquarters in March and a week-long training in April, where DRM Authority officials worked closely with the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA).

During the meeting, Managing Director Sargent and General Chevalier also discussed ways to strengthen disaster preparedness and build capacity in The Bahamas through continued collaboration.

For over two decades, The Bahamas and the RING have shared a close partnership rooted in cooperation and the exchange of expertise. Collaborations like these are essential to strengthening our disaster preparedness, boosting our resilience, and helping build a safer, more secure Bahamas.
