DRM Authority Welcomes Mr. Weatherman

Today we welcomed Brian “Mr. Weatherman” Shields to our National Disaster Emergency Operations Center.
Our Managing Director, Aarone Sargent, spoke to Mr. Shields about the measures being taken to protect The Bahamas from natural and manmade disasters. Mr. Shields, in turn, shared lessons he learned about clear, timely communication during the major weather events he has covered in his two-decade career as a broadcaster and meteorologist.
After his visit to the DRM Authority, Assistant Managing Director Dominique Martin, Assistant Director for Strategic Communications Taige Adderley, and Audiovisual Manager Vincent Williams accompanied Mr. Shields to the Department of Meteorology Headquarters at the Airport Industrial Park, where they toured the facilities and met with the country’s leading meteorologists.
