General Procurement Notice

The Disaster Risk Management Authority of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas (DRM Authority) has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) in an amount equivalent to US$750,000 (Seven-Hundred and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars) towards the cost of the Disaster Resilience Improvement Project (DRIP), and intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to eligible payments under contracts procured under this project. Payments by CDB will be made only at the request of the DRM Authority and upon approval by CDB and will be subject in all respects to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement. The Financing Agreement prohibits withdrawal from the financing account for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import, to the knowledge of CDB, is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. No party other than DRM Authority shall derive any rights from the Financing Agreement or have any claim to the proceeds of the Funds.

The following consultancy services will be procured under this project:

  1. Strategic Planning, Continuity of Operations and Mass Evacuation Planning for the Disaster Risk Management Authority (DRM Authority) in The Bahamas
  2. A Socially Inclusive and Gender-Responsive National Assessment of Individual and Household Disaster Preparedness and Vulnerability in The Bahamas.
  3. Project Coordinator.

 

It is expected that these will be procured during the period from March 2025 to November 2025.

Consultants and/or Contractors and/or Suppliers from member countries of CDB will be eligible to participate in these procurement opportunities. Potential bidders/proposers are advised to review the detailed eligibility criteria detailed in Section 4 of the Procurement Procedures for Projects Financed by CDB (January, 2021), as published on CDB’s website
